Leah, the Bible has an answer for us when things are going this bad: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things shall be added" (Mt.6:33). That's the key. You see, god knows what we have need of (Mt.6:32) and is always concerned for us. But he wants our focus on him so that he can begin to direct us one step at a time. I know it is hard when you are bombarded with all these problems, but if those things dominate your focus, you will never have peace. So, in the midst of this storm, just try to somehow to take your mind away from everything else for a moment and just draw nigh unto Lord, so that he can draw nearer unto your situation (Js.4:8). For the greater the presence of God in your life, the more you will see his deliverance. For the Bible says this about God's plan for our lives: "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jer.29:13). So, in everything you are going through, God has a plan to bring you through. But you must be able to hear his voice so that you can follow his directions. And the best way to do that is to get as close to him as you can. That's the theme of the whole bible: trusting in God with all of our hearts. Do this, and I promise things will work out in time. Of course you are going to have to be patient. But if you wait upon the Lord, he will bring you through. Never ever give up on him!

Prayer: Father, we pray that you heal every area of Leah's life. Look upon her financial situation, Lord, for you have promised in your word to bless us if we walk after you. I ask you to fill her heart with peace and assurance during this period in her life; let her know that all will be well. Show her the great plans you have for her life. And give her a spirit of reading your word and prayer like never before so that she will be able to hear your voice when you speak to her. Don't allow the enemy to dominate her thinking with worry or fear, as he usually tries to do when we are struggling. But keep her mind focused upon you, reminding her of everything you have done for your people in the past. You never forsake us or leave us alone; you always lead us out of the desert into the promise land you have prepared for us. We just have to stay close to you and follow you one day at a time. Help Leah in this regard. And heal her emotionally as well, Lord. Fill any gap in her heart; bless her with the right friends and good christian fellowship. Show her you love through the people you put in her life. Let them be a constant source of encouragement for her daily. In Jesus' name. Amen.
